Our story so far
Having always enjoyed a love of bohemian style, Emma started Bella Boheme with the vision to bring the eclectic patterns and colours of the world to her beautiful home town, the Blue Mountains. Em wanted to create something special for the Blue Mountains community in the way of an eclectic lifestyle store, where people could escape the everyday for a little while, and feel inspired and welcomed.
Bella Boheme started in 2011 as a local market stall, and in 2015, Em followed her dream and created a bohemian inspired haven, nestled in the Blue Mountains (with the help of her talented husband who hand-crafted our shop fit-out!). From humble beginnings, Bella Boheme has now grown into a thriving store, welcoming visitors from near and far, and selling to customers worldwide through our curated online presence.
Bella Boheme is a lifestyle brand, curating a unique range of bohemian clothing, accessories and homewares. Much more than a store, we offer a rich sensory experience that leaves each customer feeling inspired and supported.
Our team
Our beautiful team are a mix of creative talents from the Blue Mountains, Australia. Each team member is a unique little gem with her own passions, background and style. Our store's eclectic mix of patterns and styles represents this mix of strong, unique tastes.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, and the unique level of customer care we offer. We care about developing genuine relationships with our customers, staff and community and providing each with positive experiences. We know that the Bella Boheme woman wants to feel cared for and appreciated, and we go above and beyond to make sure that’s her experience.
Treading Lightly & Giving Back
At Bella Boheme, we believe looking after our beautiful Earth and giving back to our community go hand in hand. We’re always looking for ways to tread more lightly, reduce our carbon footprint and make more conscious choices across our day-to-day business. From the way we package your order to how we manage waste in our stores, we believe the small things really do add up.
Every online order is lovingly wrapped in a unique sari bag made from recycled silk, giving your beautiful pieces an extra layer of protection while they make their way to you. We love that these gorgeous bags can then be reused for storage, gift wrapping or your next creative project. Our in-store paper bags are sourced from sustainably managed forests, and we encourage our customers to reuse them or bring them back to us so they can be given another life. We also collect and recycle packaging from our suppliers wherever possible, reuse materials such as bubble wrap and cardboard, and make sure excess plastic is responsibly recycled rather than simply sent to landfill.
We also believe in giving back to the people and communities around us. Bella Boheme proudly supports the Sebastian Foundation, and our partnership has seen Bella Boheme contribute over $90 000 towards the amazing Open Parachute program, helping young people develop the skills and support they need to navigate the challenges of growing up. It’s our little way of using Bella Boheme as a force for good — because we believe that when we all do our little bit, we can make a big difference.
